The Melody in the Rust

Kael is a seventeen-year-old scavenger burdened by the responsibility of raising his younger sister in a world reclaimed by wild magic. His sister, Nia, is an optimistic eight-year-old who views the dangerous ruins of the "Old World" as a playground for discovery. Deep beneath the earth in the Sunken Metro, Kael and Nia search the rusted carcass of a subway train for supplies. While Kael focuses on survival, Nia is drawn to a mysterious relic from the forgotten past. When the decaying floor of the train gives way, Kael must rely on his dormant magic to save the only family he has left.
